Upcoming Exhibit! Catherine, with her Kilauea paintings, will be one of three artists featured at a Volcano Art Center Gallery show from January 7, 2012 - February 19, 2012. This special exhibition will celebrate the Hawai'i Volcanoes Observatory's centennial! The opening reception will be at the VAC gallery in Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2012. Please come!

2011 News

Heart to Heart and Halema‘uma‘u III are displayed in the historic Volcano Art Center gallery’s main room. The paintings depict Kilauea volcano’s current summit eruption in Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park (Spring, 2011).

An original rendering of Halema‘uma‘u (circa early 1920s) by D. Howard Hitchcock – a leading member of the Volcano School of artists – can be seen painted directly on the chimney above the fireplace between Heart to Heart and Halema‘uma‘u III.

2010 News

Kolea lau nui III takes second place in the paintings division at the Wailoa Center’s E Komo Mai 2 show in Hilo, Hawai‘i (November 5-23, 2010).

Kolea lau nui II (shown in top left corner of photo) is accepted and displayed as a fine art print in Keaau Fine Art Center’s Digital4Print show (November 19 – December 18, 2010).
